This week at the GLCC
Monday January 14th:?A new women?s group is being formed at the GLCC called Women Speak.?This women?s group, welcoming women of all sexual orientations, will be a open discussion group for women to discuss a variety of topics, including, relationships, family, labels, spirituality, friends, work, school, and much more. An informational meeting is being held today from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. to discuss the direction of the group. Be sure to attend and have your voice heard.
Tuessday January 15th:?Persad welcomes all school aged youth to come hang out at?Persad?s after school program?from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and enjoy the safe space with your friends.
Wednesday January 16th:?From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. is Service Access for Youth (SAY) at the GLCC in collaboration with many organizations dedicated to providing services to homeless youth. SAY focuses on GLBTQA youth and young adult 25 and under who are in crisis or are experiencing homelessness. ?Tutoring, GED classes, health care assessments and other resources are provided. Free Pizza is provided for youth that attend.
Thursday January 17th: The GLCC is holding its monthly Health and Wellness Night starting at 6 p.m., we will have a representative from Tobacco Free Allegheny to offer resources on how to help you with your New Years resolution to kick the habit! 7 p.m., Patric will be presenting a Yoga 101 with a FREE class to follow and at 8 p.m. Reiki 101 will be presented by Lyndsey. All workshops are free and open to the public.
The Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force provides?free HIV testing?at the GLCC from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you want to know your status come down and get checked out. No blood drawn and it only takes 20 minutes!
Friday January 18th:?Every Friday night at the GLCC is?Youth Drop In Night. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. the GLCC shuts its doors but welcomes all youth aged 20 and younger to come down and hang out. We hope to see you there!
Every Sunday 4:30-5:30
Sunday January 20th:?Every Sunday is?Yoga Chill?at the GLCC. From 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Spend some time with good folks from the community to get some exercise and relax. It costs $5 to attend but you can park for free downtown!

Friday January 18th:?is joining forces with Mr Cattivo 2012, Johnny Valiant to help raise money for the GLCC.?Sex, Drag & Rock ?n Roll. doors open at 6, fun starts at 7!It will be a night of Live Music including the smooth soulful sounds of Lyndsey Smith, Alternative rockers The Ele[mental] and more including live performances with some of the City?s most Popular Drag Kings, Drag Queens and Burly-Q?s equals a night of Sexy Fun! Cattivo is also offering you a chance to bring your best performance to win a spot in the RuPaul?s Drag Race Triple Threat show on February 16, 2013.Not only would you be competing for a spot in a #1 show, you would be helping the GLCC (Gay Lesbian Community Center). Tell your friends. Pass the word. Look out for more event details.Drag Queen Contest hosted by Sasha Nolan. Contestants would be required to perform one song. The top 2 performers will have a chance to Lip Sync for Your Life. All contestants will receive the Final Lip Sync song ahead of time. Only 10 contestant spots are available. Saturday January 19th:?Its?OUTRAGEOUS BINGO?night at Rodef Shalom to benefit the GLCC and the Shepherd Wellness Community. Come enjoy great performers and be ready to shout ?BINGO!? Tickets are $15 in advance and can be purchased online at glccpgh.org, at Banner Coin Exchange downtown or Klavon?s Ice Cream Parlor in the strip district. SORRY, IT APPEARS TICKETS HAVE SOLD OUT!
